April / May 2009 saw the 120 fleet reduction programme in Dublin Bus kick into full swing, but a mear few weeks after the programme begun a number of stored RV's ended up being reactivated for service , to cover for a series of modifications to the EV Class
RV579 was one such vehicle, although it was moved from Donnybrook to Ringsend whilst still active. She is seen here on Parnell Square on July 10th 2009 in use on the Oxygen Shuttles to Punchestown via Lucan.
Shortly after 576 & 579 moved to Ringsend RV612 & 616, withdrawn from Phibsboro depot from their 23 fleet withdrawl, arrived at Clontarf depot for EV cover.
Both vehicles were new to Conyingham Road depot in December 1999 for the 25/25A Super Cityswift services , remaining there until November 2004, although 616 had a 15 month spell in Broadstone depot. Moving to Phibsboro in November 2004 the veihcles were stored in May 2009, before being reactivated at Clontarf.
RV612 (Above) is seen at Clare Hall on the 27 and RV616 (below) at Beaumount Hospital on the 42A on July 3rd 2009.
Arriving in Clontarf with RV615 were RV632 and 633 from Harristown, although they are fleet replacements as opposed to EV Cover.
RV632 is seen here at Northside Shopping Centre on July 22nd 2009.
The Future of RV542 / 543 in Donnybrook and 576 / 579 in Ringsend is somewhat unclear. However RV615 & 616 were released from Clontarf by the end of July 2009 and returned to Broadstone, where to from there remains unclear.
