In the past 10 Years Bus Eireann has gradually expanded it's operations in Sligo , stemming from an expansion in Expressway and Local services.

Most of the immediate local needs are served by 4 ME Class Minibuses , new in 1997 and transferred to Sligo later on , and in 2001 by 2 Wright Cadet/DAF SB120 midibuses . DWR012 &ME204 are seen here at the recently rebuilt Sligo Bus Station . Note DWR012's DMD destination , for the recently introduced local Nightrider service in Sligo City. By 2009, these local services had been augmented and in the case of the ME's , replaced by DPC Class and AM Class vehicles.

DWR012 is seen here at seaside resort of Rosses Point , the terminus end of the 473 service . DWR012 is not at the terminus as such , which is next a school around the corner from the picture but most of it's clientel board here , with a car park on one side and the Yeats Country Hotel on the other . DWR012 also has a spotless interior , both Sligo's DWR's are well looked after.

DWR011,the sister of 12,is seen on the second service on the hop out from Sligo City , the 472 service to the Seaside resort of Strandhill . This is a popular area for surfers , and Sligo Regional Airport is located nearby . Some services of the 472 serve the Airport on Request.

Some additional views of DWR011 at the Strandhill terminus. The service, with it's 7 services per way each day , as can be seen is well patronised.

Sligo normally keeps it's 2 DWR's to operate the Rosses Point and Strandhill services , but occasionally other buses are used.

VP326 , normally found on Top Line Expressway Work , is seen here arriving into John Street from Rosses Point.

Strandhill and Rosses Point have about 7/8 departures daily from Sligo Bus Station. Typical fare is €5.25 return.

Our Rosses Point photos are dedicated to a southside enthusiast who enjoys walks in Yeats Country!!!
