RH1 was very quickly sold to Go North East,a division of the Go-Ahead Group which operates Bus and Rail Services in the UK.Go North East were already operating 3 Ex Dublin Bus RH's,formly of the Isle of Man (Former RH24,26&27).RH1 was one of 3 Olimpians sold to them (the others being RH65&85).
The Veichle arrived at Go North East in January and after some work was allocated to Stanley Depot,in Co.Durham with former RH65 (Now 3951),and would shortly be joined by 3952 ( former RH85).It was used for a mixture of Schools and Scheduled service work. All of the Incoming Photos were taken at Stanley Bus Station on June 24th 2006.
External Views of 3950.As can be seen from the Pictures she was repannelled, rather heavly, and modifications made, such as the installation of Cameras outside the veichle. Her Registration Plate (G183 WGX) has been mounted on the side and her rear Digital Number box pannelled over.Like most RH's sent to the UK,her Dual Door has been removed and Pannelled over to increase seating capacity.
However the biggest notable change is the installation of a Digital Display Unit (DMD) where her scrolls used to be.
3950 has had a great deal of work carried out since she left DB and she appears to be well cared for.As Stated she shares Stanley Garage with 3951,formley Conyingham Road's RH65,and 3952,formly RH85 Of Donnybrook Garage (indeed 3952 was noted passing the bus station at Speed).
Given the Nature of Work Carried out on RH1,it is highly likely she will last to see her 20th Birthday with Go North East, and one can only question wherether more former comrades from Dublin Bus will join her in the future. However, she is safe in Durham/Newcastle/Gateshead operating spheres for the future.
